or just get highlights and then get your mum absolutely fucked off with you then explain a reason behind why you got it done. colours generally reflect emotion or thoughts status, yellow happy red angry black depressed. so on. just go with what you think will suit you best

If you really wanna dye it get lowlights or something so it will be different and look good but wont be too dramatic and your mum wont freak.

my school isnt strict at all but i dont want to do something too shocking like dye my entrie head (which i dont want to do) but i think she wont mind streaks or natural colors but she might object to something like blue highlights

Ok, I love your hair colour right now a bunch, so don't dye the entire thing or else I'll have to hunt you down and correct it! anyways, how strict is your mom, I mean is she like only natural colours, or nothing big and drastic? And is your school strict about dress code, mine is! I'm not allowed to have un-natural colours in my hair during school(so dumb! But during the summer I do it, like my hair is purple right now! ) So figure that out, if your allowed to have un-natural hair coulor, why dont you start with somthing suttle, like a bright red streak in the middle of your hair somewhere? And Katie's idea is awesome, too. Layers are the best! I have layer that I tease to give me height and each one is pretty much a different colour! My hair is what she also said short and black underneath(speaking of black I need to redye it cause now its more like choco-brown!) If your scared of that but wanna do it, what I did was get this all natural dye that comes out after one wash to see what it'd look like, then I slowly went to jet black from there with perminent dye, but you gotta remember dye runs so if you go with black BE CAREFUL!! I tried to do it at home, but it ran into the rest of my hair! My mom acually made an emergancy hair appointment to fix it! LOLZ!! God i'm off subject...Well bakc to your hair....hmmm....my general opinion is keep your natural colour, go with one giant chunk of streaak in a dramatic colour, cut it the way you want it and that will probably be very dramatic and give you a new slate for high school without giving your mom a heart attack every time she sees it!

you're hair is so pretty and not preppy at all lol. But I think the razored ends will look cute once you have it short, maybe some black underneath and some layers?
